CRS cut-off score drops by three points in November 13 Express Entry draw

Latest EXP entry draw

In the Express Entry draw held on November 13, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 3600 candidates to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score for candidates in this all-program draw was 472 points. In the previous Express Entry draw held on October 30, the minimum CRS cut-off score was 475 points.
As in the previous draws, tie-breaking rule was applied in the November 13 draw too. It means not all candidates with a minimum CRS score of 472 would be receiving an ITA from IRCC. The draw prioritized those candidates who had submitted their Express Entry profiles before October 8, 2019 at 10:46:01 UTC.

The CRS cut-off score of the previous draw held on October 30 was 475, the highest CRS cut-off score in the year 2019 so far. The reason for this high CRS cut-off score was a longer time gap occurred between the October 30 all-program Express Entry draw and the preceding all-program draw held on October 2. Usually, the time gap between two all-program Express Entry draws is two weeks. The longer the interval, the higher the CRS cut-off will be. The reason is that a longer time gap gives more time for the Express Entry pool to replenish with eligible profiles.
However, the CRS cut-off score is expected to keep coming down in the future draws. IRCC may even invite candidates with CRS scores below 450 as happened in January this year when candidates with CRS scores as low as 438 were invited.
As per the Immigration Levels Plan of Canada for 2019-2021, Canada will admit 256000 permanent residents through the federal Express Entry draws. Another 200000 permanent residents will be admitted through provincial nominee programs, as per the Plan.
