Canada Immigration pathways

Express Entry System for Canada Immigration

In the Canada Immigration overview, the most important pathway is the Express Entry system for Canada immigration. It is a fast-track system for skilled workers. The skills of the applicants are ranked on the basis of their specific talents and job prospects through the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) – the applicants at the top of the rankings are offered permanent residency.

When we have a Canada Immigration Overview, we must consider the fact that as per the multi-year immigration levels plan for 2018-2020 of Canada, the federal government has set a target of 74,900 admissions for the three economic immigration classes administered through the Express Entry system– the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), or the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC).

Skilled Worker Class

Canada Immigration Overview: Provincial Nominee Program

In Canada immigration overview, we can see that Provincial Nomination Programs (PNPs) play an important role in Canada Immigration. It enables provincial and territorial governments in Canada to attract immigrants to their respective regions. PNP enables individuals with the skills and experience required by the province(s) participating in PNP to receive a Provincial Nomination Certificate which expedites the Canada immigration and the Canadian Permanent Residency process.

The Family Class

In the Canada immigration overview, the family class Canada Immigration pathway has an important place. Through this pathway, Canadian citizens and permanent residents can apply to sponsor their relatives for permanent residence status. The relatives they can sponsor include spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner 16 years of age or older, an unmarried dependent child under the age of 22, a parent or grandparent, and a brother, sister, nephew, niece, the grandchild who is an orphan, unmarried and under 18 years of age. Instead of permanent residency, eligible candidates can also apply for the long-term visitor Parents and Grandparents Super Visa for their parents and/or grandparents.

Canada Immigration Overview: Business Immigration Program

In  Canada immigration overview, Business Program for Canada Immigration must be considered as an important pathway. It comprises three categories including Investors, Entrepreneurs and the Self-Employed.

  • The Investor Class

Canada immigration overview shows that potential investors have a separate pathway for migrating to Canada. Applicants who demonstrate the ability to become economically established in Canada on the basis of their business, management experience and net worth of at least $1,600,000, are considered for permanent residency in Canada. For Canada immigration, these applicants are required to make an irrevocable, non-interest bearing five-year investment of $800,000 to a government approved investment fund.

  • The Entrepreneur Class

In the Canada immigration overview, we can find an exclusive pathway for business people to migrate to Canada. Applicants who demonstrate the ability to become economically established in Canada on the basis of their business experience and high personal net worth are considered for permanent residency. However, approval depends on the entrepreneur’s investment and involvement in the active management of a qualifying business operated in Canada that contributes to the Canadian economy and creates employment opportunities.

  • The Self Employed class

In Canada immigration overview, we can also see that there is a separate pathway for self-employed people to migrate to Canada. Applicants who have relevant experience, the intention and the ability to contribute to Canada’s economy by creating their own employment, by contributing to the cultural, artistic or athletic fields in Canada or by purchasing and/or managing a farm in Canada are considered for permanent residency.
