Alberta Express Entry draw sets CRS cut-off score at 303

Alberta Express Entry

In the latest Alberta Express Entry stream draw, the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) invited 187 Express Entry candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 303 to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The candidates who have received the invitations are now one step closer to obtaining Canada.
The Alberta Express Entry stream is aligned to the federal Express Entry. It gives an opportunity for Express Entry candidates to receive a nomination from the province of Alberta for permanent residence in Canada. The candidates who successfully apply for and obtain provincial nomination from Alberta will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points added to their total CRS score. It guarantees them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Canada federal Express Entry draw.

To receive a provincial nomination from Alberta, the candidate must have work experience in an occupation that supports the economic development and diversification priorities of Alberta. Though Alberta does not have a list of eligible occupations, they retain a list of ineligible occupations, which is named Alberta Opportunity Stream Ineligible Occupations List.
Alberta Express Entry stream has issued a total of 1785 invitations so far this year. However, the annual allocation for Alberta is yet to be revealed.
The Express Entry system of Canada manages the applications for immigration under the three major federal economic immigration programs of Canada, which are Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class. Candidates are ranked on the basis of Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which is allotted to each candidate on the basis of various human capital factors such as age, work experience, education and proficiency in English/French. Those with a high CRS score will receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence in Canada in the draws that are conducted regularly.
