Candidates with minimum CRS score of 352 invited in AINP draw

In the latest Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) draw, the province has issued 159 invitations to Express Entry candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of at least 352. The candidates were invited through the Alberta Express Entry stream of the AINP and all of them had an active Express Entry profile.

The candidates who have received invitations may submit complete application for provincial nomination from Alberta. If they obtain provincial nomination, they will be awarded an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System score points that would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in the federal Express Entry draw. That means, for a candidates who has a CRS score of 352, the total score after receiving provincial nomination would be 952.

Canada Express Entry

Canada Express Entry system manages applications for economic immigration under three federal programs, which are Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. Each Express Entry candidate is assessed and awarded a CRS score based on various eligibility factors to determine whether the candidate has the ability to succeed in the Canadian labour market. These include age, education, language ability, work experience etc. Those with the highest scores receive invitations in the Express Entry draws which are conducted regularly.

Alberta Express Entry Stream

Express Entry candidates who have strong ties to Alberta and those who can support the economic development and diversification priorities of Alberta may apply for provincial nomination under Alberta Express Entry stream. The candidates must also have experience in an occupation that is not included in the list of ineligible occupations of Canada.
The nomination allocation for Alberta in 2020 was 6250. However, the allocation had to be reduced to 4000 nominations owing to the COVID 19 pandemic. Because of this, no Alberta draws was held in the second half of 2020. The nomination allocations for Alberta for the year 2021 have not been revealed yet.
