Minimum CRS score 300 in latest Alberta Express Entry draw

Alberta CRS 300

In the latest Express Entry-linked provincial nominee program draw held on March 4, Alberta invited 100 candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score as low as 300. The candidates who have received a Notification of Interest (NoI) or invitation in the latest draw did not have to have a job offer from Alberta. But they were required to have an active Express Entry profile.
If the candidates who have received Notifications of Interest(NoIs) in the latest draw successfully apply for and obtain a provincial nomination from Alberta Immigrant Nominee Progam(AINP), they will get an additional 600 CRS score points, that would ensure them an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent federal Express Entry draw.

Canada Express Entry

The Canada Express Entry system manages immigration applications under the three major federal economic immigration programs of Canada, which are: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class. Express Entry candidates are assessed and ranked on the basis of human capital factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency etc. Based on the assessment, they are awarded a CRS score out of 1200. The highest scoring candidates receive an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent federal Express Entry draw.

Alberta Express Entry stream

To be eligible to receive an invitation through the Alberta Express Entry stream, an Express Entry candidate must have work experience in an occupation that supports the economic development and diversification priorities of Alberta. However, Alberta does not have a list of eligible occupations. The stream gives priority to those who meet the following criteria:

  • A job offer or work experience in Alberta
  • A degree obtained from a post-secondary institution in Canada and a valid job offer
  • A close family member (parent or child or sibling)residing Alberta

Provincial Nominee Program offers a viable Canada immigration pathway even for candidates who have low CRS scores. Contact the expert Canada immigration consultants of CanApprove to explore your options for Canada immigration through PNP.
