With 2K invites, May 2020 marked a busy month in Canada PNP history

Canada PNP Draw May 2020

The Provincial Nominee Programs of Canada issued close to 2000 invitations to apply for provincial nomination in the month of May, marking one of the busiest months of the year. A significant percentage of these invitations were issued through the PNP streams and categories aligned to the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination will have 600 Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) points added to their total CRS score.

Canada Provincial Nominee Programs

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program(AINP)
In the PNP draw held on May 13, Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program(AINP) issued 191 Notifications of Interest(NoIa) to Express Entry candidates with a minimum CRS score of 300.
British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program(BC PNP)
At the same time, British Columbia issued a total of 632 invitations to apply for provincial nomination in the draws held in May. Two of these were Tech Pilot draws that targeted international tech workers. Candidates belonging to the Skilled Worker and International Graduate sub-categories of British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) with a minimum PNP score of 80 were invited in these draws. At the same time, the two other draws held in the month invited skilled, entry-level and semi-skilled workers and international graduates through the Skilled Immigration and Express Entry BC streams under BC PNP. The candidates were required to have PNP scores ranging between 81 and 110.
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program(MPNP)
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held two Expression of Interest draws in May, in which a total of 222 candidates belonging to  the Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education streams received invitations. The total number of invitations issued by MPNP so far this year is 2030.
Nova Scotia Nominee Program(NSNP)
Nova Scotia held a Labour Market Priorities Stream draw in May 22 that exclusively targeted registered nurses. All the invited candidates had an active Express Entry profile and at least three years of work experience as a registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse.

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program(OINP)
The OINP issued a total of 703 invites in May. In the OINP draw held on May 13, Express Entry candidates with work experience in six tech occupations and CRS scores ranging between 421 and 451 received invites. The CRS requirement was the lowest in the program’s history.
Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program(PEI PNP)
In the PEI PNP draw held on May 15, a total of 15 candidates received invitations. These candidates belonged to Express Entry and Labour Impact sub-categories and worked in essential services such as healthcare and trucking.
Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program(SINP)
In the SINP draw held on May 28, a total of 252 candidates received invitations to apply for a provincial nomination. The invited candidates belonged to the Express Entry and Occupations In Demand subcategories of the International Skilled Worker category.
With a few Canada PNP draws held in the first week itself, June too appears to be a busy month, as far as the Canada PNP is concerned.
