Manitoba PNP draw

In the Manitoba PNP draw held on July 31, the province invited 199 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. The invitations were issued under three immigration categories, which are: Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education Stream.
Of the total 199 invitations issued, 157 were issued to Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates, 21 to Skilled Workers Overseas candidates and the remaining 21 to International Education Stream candidates. The number of Express Entry candidates who received invitations in the draw is 15. With the latest draw, the total number of immigration candidates invited by Manitoba so far this year has reached 2833.

Manitoba PNP Expression of Interest system

To receive an invitation under either the Skilled Workers in Manitoba or the Skilled Workers Overseas category, the candidate must first submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program(MPNP). Each Expression of Interest profile submitted is then assessed on the basis of various human capital factors such as age, education, work experience, previous connections to the province etc. and then awarded a score out of 1000. The highest-scoring candidates are invited to apply for a provincial nomination from Manitoba. In the July 31 draw, the minimum score required for candidates to obtain an LAA was 475, while Skilled Workers Overseas candidates had to score at least 764 points to be eligible.

Manitoba PNP Immigration Streams

The Skilled Worker Overseas category and Skilled Workers in Manitoba category allow Manitoba to nominate skilled workers capable of supporting the labour market needs of the province. Those applying from outside Canada under these two streams must prove a previous connection to the province or an invitation issued under one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of the Manitoba PNP draw. Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates must also have a full-time permanent job offer from a Manitoba employer. The International Education Stream targets those candidates who have graduated from one of the post-secondary educational institutions of Manitoba and possess skills that are in-demand in the province.

Manitoba PNP Express Entry

The Express Entry system of Canada manages applications under the three federal immigration programs, which are: Federal Skilled Worker Program(FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program(FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class(CEC). The Express Entry candidates who have received invitations from Manitoba, if successfully apply for and obtain provincial nomination, will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score points added to their total score. It guarantees them an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent federal Express Entry draw.
