MPNP Expression of Interest
To receive an invitation under either the Skilled Workers in Manitoba or the Skilled Workers Overseas category the candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest(EoI) to the MPNP. Each EoI profile submitted in this manner is assessed on the basis of various human capital factors such as their language ability (English or French), education, work experience and previous connections to the province and awarded a score out of 1000. Those who have high scores are invited in the MPNP draws that are conducted regularly. The minimum score required for Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream in July 16 MPNP draw was 430 points. At the same time, Skilled Workers Overseas candidates had to score at least 811 points to receive an invitation.
MPNP immigration streams
The Skilled Workers Overseas stream as well as the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category aims to nominate those foreign skilled workers who can support the labour market needs of the province for permanent residence in Canada. To be eligible under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream of MPNP, the candidates must have a previous connection to Manitoba, which can be a close family member of friends residing in the province, previous work or education experience in the province or an invitation issued under one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of MPNP. The candidates under the stream need not be physically present in Manitoba at the time of submitting the application.
At the same time, candidates under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category must meet certain criteria including a full-time permanent job offer from a Manitoba employer to be eligible.
The International Education Stream is for those candidates who have graduated from one of the higher education institutions of Manitoba and possess skills that are in demand in the province.
