150 candidates invited in Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draws

Saskatchewan

In the two Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draws held on August 15, a total of 150 candidates were invited to apply for provincial nomination by the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). Of the total invitations issued, 45 went to Express Entry stream candidates while the remaining 105 invitations went to candidates belonging to Occupations In-Demand subcategory.
SINP uses a unique Expression of Interest (EoI) points grid to rank candidates of SINP Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand sub-categories. Each candidate is awarded a score out of 100 based on various eligibility factors such as education, work experience, language proficiency, connection to the province etc. The highest scoring candidates are invited to apply for provincial nomination in Expression of Interest draws of SINP. The minimum required score required to be selected in the latest draws was 78.

Saskatchewan Express Entry

The Express Entry stream of SINP, which is aligned to the federal Express Entry system, allows the province to select eligible candidates from the Express Entry pool for provincial nomination. The Express Entry candidates nominated by Saskatchewan receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points that guarantee them an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The applications for permanent residence in Canada from Saskatchewan Occupation In-Demand candidates are processed outside the Express Entry system. To qualify for provincial nomination under both Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand subcategories, the candidate must have work experience in one of the 19 occupations featured in the In-Demand Occupations List of Saskatchewan.
SINP has issued a total of 1315 invitations to Express Entry stream candidates and 1789 invitations to Occupation In-Demand sub-category candidates so far this year. Compared to the previous SINP draw held on July 24, the latest draw shows a decrease invitations from 381 to 150.
