Study in Malaysia has become a trend among international students looking for quality education at an affordable price. In Malaysia, the academic session for both undergraduate and postgraduate programme starts in February. There are two intakes in an academic year, i.e. February and September. Students have to start applying 6 months prior to the intake date.

Application Deadlines:

One has to be well aware of application deadline and the tests to be taken. The Malaysia admission deadline for the public universities is October of the previous year for February intake and May-June of the previous year for the September intake.

Entry Requirements:

The public and private Universities have set the admission requirements including the language tests. Here are the general admission requirements set in Universities/Colleges in Malaysia. The entry requirements may vary depending the course one applies.

Bachelors Entry Requirements:

  • The minimum academic entry requirement is at least 12 years of general education
  • IELTS 6.0 with no band score less than 5.5

Masters Entry Requirements:

  • An appropriate undergraduate degree from a recognized University.
  • IELTS 6.5 with no band score less than 6.0

Entry Requirements in Private Colleges

Private colleges in Malaysia have set a lot easier admission requirements. For diploma programs grade 12 is the minimum qualification and for PG Diploma the admission requirement is successful completion of a 3-year diploma or degree in the relevant subject field. Private Colleges in Malaysia do not require IELTS to prove language proficiency.

Step 5:

In order to confirm the offer letter, students should fulfill the conditions if any and pay the tuition fees mentioned with the deadline date. Students should send a signed copy of acceptance of offer and tuition fee payment receipt back to the institution and confirm their seats.

Step 6:
