British Columbia invites workers, graduates and entrepreneurs

Canada PR applications

In the latest draw held on January 30, British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) invited skilled workers, graduates and entrepreneurs to apply for provincial nomination. A total of 356 candidates belonging to Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC immigration streams received invitations. Another 19 invitations were issued to Entrepreneur Immigration candidates.
Express Entry BC
The first step for Express Entry candidates to be considered for provincial nomination under Express Entry BC categories is to create an Express Entry profile. The candidates can then apply for provincial nomination from British Columbia through Express Entry BC stream. Those who obtain provincial nomination will receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points that would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draws.
Skills Immigration
The Skills Immigration candidates who have been invited to apply for provincial nomination will have their applications for permanent residence processed outside the Express Entry system.
The candidates belonging to Skilled Worker, Entry Level and Semi-skilled, and International Graduate categories have to register under the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) to apply for provincial nomination. SIRS evaluates each candidates and awards scores on the basis of a number of eligibility factors such as education, work experience and language proficiency. The highest scoring candidates are invited to apply for provincial nomination.
All the Skills Immigration and Express Entry candidates invited by the BC PNP to apply for provincial nomination in the latest draw were also expected to have an indeterminate, full-time job offer from a British Columbia employer.
Entrepreneur Immigration
The Entrepreneur Immigration candidates with a minimum score of 109 have been invited in the January 30 draw. The candidates were also required to have a personal net worth of at least CAD $600,000, certain level of business and/or management experience, and eligibility for legal immigration status in Canada besides meeting other program-specific criteria.
