Canada PR applications

In a draw held on January 16, a total of 316 British Columbia Express Entry and Skills Immigration candidates were invited to apply for provincial nomination for permanent residence in Canada. The invited Express Entry candidates belonged to the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories of the Express Entry BC. The Skills Immigration candidates who were invited belonged to Skills Immigration Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled categories. The candidates who were selected in the January 16 draw were those with an indeterminate full-time job offer from a British Columbia employer.
The previous British Columbia draw held on January 9 was a tech-specific draw that invited 35 candidates having a job offer in a priority occupation with a duration of at least one year.
British Columbia Express Entry
British Columbia Express Entry or Express Entry BC stream is aligned to the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry candidates nominated by British Columbia will receive 600 additional CRS points that will guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draws.
British Columbia Skills Immigration
Candidates belonging to the Skilled Worker, International Graduate and Entry Level and Semi-skilled categories of the Skills Immigration stream were invited in the January 16 draw. The provincial nomination applications of Skills Immigration candidates will be processed outside the Express Entry system.
All those who wish to apply for provincial nomination under both the British Columbia Express Entry stream and Skills Immigration stream must first create an online profile on BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). The submitted profiles are assessed and ranked on the basis of a number of factors that include education, work experience etc. The highest ranking candidates are invited in the subsequent draws. However, candidates of Skills Immigration – Health Care Professional, Skills Immigration – International Post-Graduate, Express Entry BC – Health Care Professional and Express Entry BC – International Post-Graduate need not register under SIRS.
