British Columbia invites 351 Skills Immigration and Express Entry candidates

Canada PR applications

British Columbia PNP issued 351 invitations to apply for provincial nomination to Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC candidates in a draw held on October 3. All the invited candidates were required to have an indeterminate, full-time job offer from a British Columbia employer.
The minimum required scores varied between 65 and 91, depending on the category. The score is awarded to each candidate who registers through the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) of British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.  Launched in 2016, SIRS is a points-based system that gives candidates a registration score that determines whether they may be invited to apply. The scores are awarded on the basis of a number of economic and human capital factors that include the level of education, work experience and language proficiency. The maximum available score under SIRS is 200 points.

The Express Entry candidates who obtain provincial nomination from British Columbia will receive 600 additional CRS points that will increase their prospects of being invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draws. The applications of the Skilled Immigration candidates for Canadian permanent residence will be processed outside the Express Entry system.
The minimum scores required for each category in the October 3 BC PNP draw:

Category Minimum scores required
EEBC – Skilled Worker 82
EEBC – International Graduate 91
SI – Skilled Worker 82
SI – International Graduate 91
SI – Entry Level and Semi-Skilled 65
