Indians, followed by Chinese received the highest number of Invitations to Apply for permanent residence through Express Entry in 2017, revealed the latest report on Government of Canada’s Express Entry system. In 2017, a total of 36310 ITAs were sent to Indian citizens through Express Entry. It comes to around 42% of all the ITAs issued through Canada Express Entry that year.
Indians were followed by Chinese, though they are far behind in the number of ITAs received. Chinese received 7,466 ITAs, which means 9% of all the ITAs issued through Canada Express Entry in 2017. The total number of ITAs sent to Chinese through Express Entry in 2016 was 2,741.
Nigeria came in the third place, with 5,130 ITAs received by its citizens, which means 6% of all the ITAs issued through Canada Express Entry in 2017. In 2016, Nigeria was in the seventh place, with its citizens having received only 1041 ITAs.
Nigeria is followed by Pakistan in the fourth place and United Kingdom in the fifth place. The other countries that received the highest number of ITAs through Canada Express Entry are United States, Brazil, Iran, Republic of Ireland and Australia.
In 2016, the number of ITAs received by Indians through Canada Express Entry was 11,037, which was 33% of the total number of ITAs issued. Compared to this, there was a huge rise in the number of ITAs received by Indians in the year 2017 with 36,310 ITAs received through Express Entry.

Altogether, 65,401 candidates and their family members came to Canada as permanent residence through the Express Entry system in 2017.The occupations for which the highest number of Invitations to Apply for permanent residence were sent through Express Entry are:- Information Systems Analysts and Consultants, Software Engineers and Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers.
