It has been observed that many US H1-B visa holders, fed up with the long wait for the green card, are turning to Canada for migration. The number of Indians waiting for the US green card is around 3 lakh. It is estimated that the waiting period for Indians with an advanced degree could be as long as 151 years! The fact that H1-B visa comes with certain restrictions for its holders also makes Canadian permanent residency an attractive option for skilled migrants from India.
