Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream issues 185 invitations

In a draw held on November 26, the Human Capital Priorities Stream of Ontario issued 185 invitations to apply for provincial nomination. With the latest draw, the total number of invitations issued through this popular Express Entry-aligned stream in the year 2018 has reached 3719. The applications from the candidates in the November 26 draw will be considered under the nomination allocation for the year 2019.

The candidates selected in the November 26 draw had CRS scores ranging between 350 and 448 and a job offer from an Ontario employer. However, a job offer is not mandatory to be considered eligible under the Human Capital Priorities stream. The Express Entry profiles created between January 1, 2018, and November 22, 2018 were selected in the draw.

Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream

The Human Capital Priorities Stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) allows the province to select eligible candidates from the Express Entry pool. Selected candidates are invited to apply for provincial nomination and those who obtain the nomination are awarded 600 additional CRS points.

In each of the last four Human Capital Priorities Stream draws, OINP has issued targeted invitations. While three of these draws targeted Express Entry candidates with a job offer from Ontario, one targeted candidates with French proficiency. The minimum CRS scores required for two of these draws was 351 and for two draws that targeted candidates with a job offer, the minimum CRS scores required was 350.

Draws held for skilled Trades, French-Speaking Skilled Workers

A total of 181 invitations were issued in the Skilled Trades invitation round that took place on November 26. Another 43 invitations were issued In the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream draw that took place on November 22. The Skilled Trades stream is for Express Entry candidates currently living in Ontario and having minimum work experience of one year in one of the skilled trades listed in Minor Group 633 or Major Group 72, 73, or 82 of Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC). The French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream is for francophone Express Entry candidates with proficiency in English. Both these streams do not require the candidates to have a minimum CRS score to be eligible.
