Saskatchewan opens International Skilled Worker- Occupations In-Demand sub-category

For the first time in 2018, the Government of Saskatchewan has opened the International Skilled Worker- Occupations In-Demand sub-category under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program(SINP). The applications for the nomination certificate will be received on a first-come, first-served basis. More importantly, the applicants do not require a job offer.

International Skilled Worker- Occupations In-Demand sub-category

The International Skilled Worker- Occupations In-Demand sub-category of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program(SINP) is not aligned to the  federal Express Entry system. Last intake to this category took place on August 2, 2017 and 1200 applications were accepted. This time, only 400 applications are being accepted.

In order to be eligible to apply under the International Skilled Worker- Occupations In-Demand sub-category, one must have:

  • -Proof of legal status, if currently residing in Canada
  • -Minimum language score of CLB 4
  • -Completed at least one year of post-secondary education or training comparable to the Canadian education system that resulted in a degree, diploma, certificate, or a certificate equivalent to a trade certificate
  • -Minimum one year of work experience(paid) in their field of education or training, which should be one of the in-demand occupations of Saskatchewan
  • -Proof of eligibility for Saskatchewan licensure if the profession requires mandatory certification or licensing in Saskatchewan
  • -Proof of settlement funds and a settlement plan
  • -A minimum score of 60 points out of 100 on the point assessment grid

In-demand occupations

Saskatchewan has 36 eligible in-demand occupations. Twelve out of these do not require professional licensure. They are:
