Labour Market Priorities Stream draw invites financial auditors or accountants

Canada PR applications

In the latest Labour Market Priorities Stream draw, Nova Scotia invited Express Entry candidates with work experience as financial auditors or accountants to apply for provincial nomination. The draw held on January 24 targeted Express Entry candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score ranging between 400 and 450. This is the first Labour Market Priorities Stream draw to be held in 2019.
January 24th draw: Requirements
The candidates were required to have minimum five years of work experience in National Occupational Classification (NOC) 1111 — Financial Auditors and Accountants. They were also required to have submitted their Express Entry profiles on or after July 1, 2018.
Other requirements for candidates in January 24 draw:

  • The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree or must have completed a study program with a duration of three or more years at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
  • Proficiency in English/French with a skill level of 7 on Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) in speaking, listening, reading and writing
  • Have work experience of five years or more in NOC 0, A or B. The candidate must also provide letters of reference from employers to prove work experience

Labour Market Priorities Stream
The Labour Market Priorities Stream launched by Nova Scotia last year allows the province to search for eligible candidates with work experience in the Express Entry pool. The first step for candidates to be considered under this stream is creating an Express Entry profile. They must also be eligible for Canada immigration under one of the three economic immigration programs of Canada:

  • Federal Skilled Worker (FSW);
  • Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC); and
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

However, the specified occupations and criteria could vary in each draw.
While candidates with a CRS score as low as 400 became eligible under Labour Market Priorities Stream in the January 24th draw, the minimum CRS score required for candidates in the latest Express Entry draw was 443 or above. The Express Entry candidates who obtain provincial nomination from Nova Scotia will receive 600 additional CRS points that would guarantee an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
