Australia Immigration: Recent Figures

Recent figures regarding Australian immigration revealed that Indian immigrants make up the major source of skilled and family migration. Approximately 20% of migrants came from India from over 38,854 visas in 2015 – 2016.
China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau and Mongolia account for 16.1% migrants, the UK 9.3% migrants and India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh accounted for 30% of Australia’s Migrant Program.
Most of the visas were granted to skilled migrants, 39% were employer-sponsored visas. 30% visas were family-sponsored visas through the family migration program. 33.5% migrants arrived in New South Wales, 25.9% arrived in Victoria, 11.7% arrived in Queensland and 10.3% arrived in Western Australia.
