Manitoba issues around 600 LAAs in latest draw

In the latest Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw held on March 28, the province issued Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to nearly 600 candidates. Out of these, 262 LAAs were issued through the Skilled Workers In Manitoba stream. The lowest score required was 433 points.
oreign workers with required level of skills can apply for provincial nomination for permanent residence in Canada under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream. Candidates with a close connection to the province get priority. The stream has two pathways–Manitoba Work Experience Pathway and Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway.

Another 260 LAAs were issued to candidates belonging to the Human Capital Pathway of the Skilled Workers Overseas stream. They were required to have a minimum score of at least 563. All these candidates were required to meet the following criteria:

  • A valid Express Entry ID and job seeker validation code, with at least six months of recent work experience in one of the occupations listed in the In-demand Occupations list of Manitoba

or

  • A connection to the province in the form of a relative, previous education or work experience
  • At least six months of recent work experience in an in-demand occupation of Manitoba
  • Required minimum level of language proficiency

The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream has both a dedicated Canada Express Entry Pathway and a direct provincial pathway named Human Capital Pathway. Foreign workers with skills and experience in one of the In-Demand Occupations of Manitoba can apply.
Manitoba issued yet another 44 LAAs to candidates belonging to the International Education Stream of MPNP. International graduates from Manitoba colleges and universities can apply for provincial nomination through the International Education Stream. The stream does not demand work experience of six months. The stream has three pathways–Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway and Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
Besides, 29 candidates obtained LAAs through the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The lowest required score was 719 points.
The March 28 draw was the 62nd draw in the history of MPNP. In the previous draw held on March 14, Manitoba had issued 274 LAAs to Human Capital Pathway candidates with a minimum score of 564 points. Another 63 LAAs were issued through Strategic Recruitment Initiative, the lowest required score being 695 points.
