OINP immigration streams

Ontario has three immigration streams linked to Express Entry. These streams allow Ontario to choose candidates from the federal Express Entry pool to be nominated for permanent residence in Canada. The Express Entry candidates nominated by the province will receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points that would ensure an invitation to apply for permanent residence for these candidates in the subsequent Express Entry draws. The Human Capital Priorities Stream, which was the most active immigration pathway in 2018, issued 2,190 of the 6,850 total nominations issued by Ontario last year. Another 1,035 nominations were issued through the two other Express Entry-aligned streams of OINP — the Skilled Trades Stream and the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream.
Invitations were also issued through pathways not aligned to Express Entry including the Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream through which 1254 nominations were issued and Masters Graduate Stream, which issued 1,215 nominations.
