853 invitations issued in largest Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draw

In the largest Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draw held on October 10, a total of 853 candidates were invited to apply for provincial nomination. The candidates invited belonged to the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand immigration sub-categories of Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program(SINP).
Of the total invitations issued, 359 were issued to candidates of Express Entry sub-category and the rest 494 invitations were issued to candidates of Occupations In-Demand sub-category.

The candidates who have received invitations can submit the complete application for provincial nomination within 60 days. The Express Entry candidates who successfully obtain provincial nomination from Saskatchewan will get 600 additional CRS points that will increase their chances for being invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draws. The applications from candidates belonging to Occupations In-Demand sub-category will be processed outside the Express Entry system.

Lowest scores

The lowest score requirement for the October 10 Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draw was 60 points. While candidates belonging to the Express Entry sub-category were required to have a minimum score of 60 in the point assessment grid of Saskatchewan, the minimum score requirement for Occupations In-Demand sub-category candidates was 63. The minimum score in both sub-categories was the lowest since the Saskatchewan Expression of Interest system came into existence in July 2018.

Change in In-demand list

Two occupations were removed from Saskatchewan In-Demand Occupations list, which was updated on October 11. NOC 2123 (Agricultural representatives, consultants and specialists) and NOC 3216 (Medical Sonographers) are the removed occupations. Currently, Saskatchewan In-Demand Occupations list comprises 20 occupations.

Saskatchewan Expression of Interest system

In order to be considered for provincial nomination under the Express Entry or Occupations In-Demand sub-categories of Saskatchewan Expression of Interest system, a candidate must first create an Expression of Interest profile. These profiles will be then ranked on the basis of the information provided regarding the education qualification, work experience, language proficiency etc. The highest scoring candidates will be invited to apply for provincial nomination in the Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draws that are conducted regularly.
