Skilled Worker

The International Skilled Worker (ISW) category of Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program(SINP) allows the province to nominate eligible candidates for permanent residence in Canada. The category has three sub-categories:

  • International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry
  • International Skilled Worker – Occupation In-Demand
  • International Skilled Worker – Employment Offer

International Skilled Worker – Occupation In-Demand

To be eligible to apply for provincial nomination under this category, the candidate must have work experience in one of the in-demand occupations of Saskatchewan. However, the candidate does not require a job offer to qualify.

 Eligibility requirements

  •  The candidate must be legally residing in Canada, if the application is being submitted from Canada
  • The candidate must have minimum language proficiency equal to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4
  • The candidate must have completed post-secondary level education or training of a minimum duration of one year. The education must have resulted in a degree, diploma, certificate, or a certificate equivalent to a trade certificate. If the candidate obtained the qualifications from outside Canada, they must also submit an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from a designated organization.
  • The candidate must have minimum one year of paid work experience in an occupation related to their field of education or training. The occupation must be classified under NOC 0, A, or B and considered to be in-demand in Saskatchewan. Besides, the candidate must have acquired the work experience within the past 10 years.
  • The candidate must hold proof of professional status or licensure, if required
  • The candidate must have enough settlement funds to support themselves and accompanying family members while settling in Saskatchewan
  • A feasible settlement plan
  • Minimum score of 60 points out of 100 on the point assessment grid

The applicant or accompanying spouse has a close relative, who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident residing in Saskatchewan. A close relative can be:

  • Parent
  • Sibling
  • Grandparent
  • Aunt or uncle
  • Niece or nephew
  • Cousin
  • Step-family members or in-laws of the same relationships.

Work experience in Saskatchewan for at least 12 cumulative months acquired in the past five years on a valid work permit
