Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draw invites 922 candidates

The latest Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draw held on October 24 invited 922 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. With the latest draw, the total number of invitations issued by the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) last week alone has increased to 1908.
In the October 24 Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draw, invitations were issued to both Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry candidates. While Occupations In-Demand candidates received 550 invitations, the number of invitations issued to Express Entry candidates was 372. The minimum required score for candidates of both the streams was 69. This is the fifth draw since the SINP expanded the list of eligible occupations from 19 to 218.

Saskatchewan Expression of Interest
The first step for an Occupation In-demand or Express Entry candidate to take to be selected through Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draw is to submit an Expression of Interest to the SINP. Saskatchewan invites candidates from the EoI pool through the draws that are conducted regularly. The invited candidates can submit the full application within 60 days. After assessing the application, the SINP officials select eligible candidates for provincial nomination.
Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draw: Occupations In-demand
To be invited to apply for provincial nomination, the Occupations In-demand candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 60 points on the SINP points assessment grid
  • Minimum language score equal Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4
  • Post-secondary level education qualification (education, training, apprenticeship with a minimum duration of one year). The education must have resulted in a diploma, certificate or degree.
  • If the qualification is obtained from outside Canada, the candidate has to submit an Educational Credential Assessment.
  • The candidate must have at least one year of work experience in an eligible occupation classified under NOC A, B or 0. The work experience must be in the same field of the candidate’s education or training and must have been obtained within 10 years before submitting the Expression of Interest.
  • Obtain required licensure in Saskatchewan. Authorities will not process applications without licensure.
  • Proof of settlement funds and a settlement plan
  • Pay application fee of $300, which is non-refundable

Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draw: Express Entry
To be eligible to be considered for provincial nomination under this category, the candidate must have:

  • An active Express Entry profile with a profile number and job seeker validation code
  • Minimum 60 points scored on the SINP points assessment grid
  • Language test results from a designated testing agency that match those in the Express Entry profile
  • Must have completed post-secondary level education, training or apprenticeship with a minimum duration of one year. This must have resulted in a diploma, certificate or degree.
  • If the qualification is earned from outside Canada, the candidate will have to submit an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA).
  • Work experience

The candidate must meet at least one of the following experience requirements in their respective field of education or training:
One year of work experience in the past 10 years in a skilled profession (non-trades)
or
Two years of work experience in a skilled trade obtained within the past five years
or
One year of work experience in Canada obtained within the past three years (trades or non-trades)

  • Work experience in a high-skilled, eligible occupation classified under NOC A, B or 0.
  • Obtain the required licensure in Saskatchewan. For skilled trades, the candidate must obtain a certificate from the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission.
  • Proof of settlement funds and a settlement plan
  • Pay application fee of $300, which is non-refundable.
