Moving to Canada would make a significant positive difference in the living standard of any individual or family. It means having access to a safe and clean environment, a well-developed public transport system, healthcare, education, and good working conditions.
Express Entry System
The Express Entry system is a fast-track system for immigration for highly skilled workers and students. The skills and abilities of a candidate are assessed based on a point-based system known as the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) where the Canadian government assesses the applicants and awards scores. The system targets and gives permanent residency status to applicants that have the ability to contribute to the innovative growth and economic prosperity of Canada.
Skilled Worker Class
Ideal applicants under the skilled worker class possess employment skills and work experience; applicants with Canadian job offers are favoured.
Quebec Skilled Worker Class
Applicants may become permanent residents on the basis that they have a business or the ability to make a substantial economic contribution to Quebec’s economy.
Provincial Nominee Class
Applicants may become permanent residents on the basis that they have a business or the ability to make a substantial economic contribution to Canada’s economy.
The Family Class
Canadian citizens and permanent residents applying to sponsor their relatives for permanent residence status include relatives such as a spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner 16 years of age or older, an unmarried dependent child under the age of 22, a parent or grandparent, and a brother, sister, nephew, niece, grandchild who is an orphan, unmarried and under 18 years of age. Instead of permanent residency, eligible candidates can also apply for the long-term visitor Parents and Grandparents Super Visa for their parents and/or grandparents.
Business Immigration Program
This program comprises of three categories including Investors, Entrepreneurs and the Self-Employed.
- The Investor Class
Applicants who demonstrate the ability to become economically established in Canada on the basis of their business, management experience and net worth of at least $1,600,000, are considered for permanent residency in Canada. These applicants are required to make an irrevocable, non-interest bearing five-year investment of $800,000 to a government approved investment fund.
- The Entrepreneur Class
Applicants who demonstrate the ability to become economically established in Canada on the basis of their business experience and high personal net worth are considered for permanent residency. However, approval depends on the entrepreneur’s investment and involvement in the active management of a qualifying business operated in Canada that contributes to the Canadian economy and creates employment opportunities.
- The Self Employed class
Applicants who have relevant experience, the intention and the ability to contribute to Canada’s economy by creating their own employment, by contributing to the cultural, artistic or athletic fields in Canada or by purchasing and/or managing a farm in Canada are considered for permanent residency.
