It guarantees them an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent federal Express Entry draw.

Those immigration candidates who wish to be nominated by Manitoba under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba or the Skilled Workers Overseas categories must first submit an Expression of Interest to the MPNP. Based on the information provided in the EoI, each candidate is assessed on various eligibility factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, previous connections to the province etc., and awarded a score out of 1000. The highest scoring candidates are issued Letters of Advice to Apply by the MPNP. The minimum scores required for candidates in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas categories in the latest draw were as follows:

Manitoba Expression of Interest: Immigration categories

Through the Skilled Worker Overseas category, MPNP nominates foreign workers capable of supporting Manitoba’s labour market for permanent residence in Canada. To be eligible under this category, the candidate must demonstrate a previous connection to Manitoba in the form of close relatives or friends residing here, education or work experience or an invitation from MPNP received through one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of Manitoba. However, it is not mandatory for them to be present in Manitoba at the time of submitting the application. The 27 Skilled Workers Overseas candidates who received invitations in the February 13 draw had been invited directly under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
To be eligible under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category, the candidate must be working in Manitoba at the time of submitting the application. They must also have a full-time, permanent job offer from their employer, besides meeting other criteria.
