Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program(OINP)

To receive an invitation for provincial nomination under the Human Capital Priorities Stream, the candidate must have at least one year of continuous work experience in a targeted occupation. The work experience must be obtained within the last five years. Ontario selects candidates who meet eligibility requirements from the Express Entry pool.

The Express Entry system manages applications for immigration to Canada under the three federal economic immigration programs of the country, which are Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class. The candidates are assessed and ranked on the basis of the Comprehensive Ranking System that takes into consideration eligibility factors such as age, work experience, education, language proficiency etc. The highest scoring candidates are invited to apply for Canada permanent residence in the regular draws.
Of the total of 7,391 candidates nominated by Ontario in 2019, almost half were Express Entry candidates. This year, Ontario has been allocated 7600 nominations, including 250 for temporary workers in intermediate skilled occupations or National Occupation Classification (NOC) skill level C.
